What are the COVID protocols & precautions for the 2023 Annual SMA Conference?
- At this time, there are no COVID specific restrictions or requirements that are in place for the hotel or the local area in regard to masking or vaccinations. Moving forward, our general approach is to manage the situation with COVID as we would for any other virus. Therefore, we recommend the following.
- We strongly encourage vaccinations be up to date including recommended booster vaccinations.
- If anyone has symptoms or recent exposure, please cancel plans to attend the conference. You can contact Cure SMA for your cancellation, refunds, etc.
- Should you become sick with symptoms of any illness while attending the conference, please immediately stop attending sessions.
- Anyone who wants to wear a mask, they should feel comfortable and supported to do so.
- Pay attention to physical distancing and contact with other individuals.
- As always at the conference, and generally in our SMA community, we ask that everyone respect and value others personal choices and decisions.
We are excited to get back together in-person, and we are looking to do this in the safest way possible with COVID now being a part of our day-to-day lives. Attending the Research and Clinical Care Meeting has the risk of exposure to COVID, and with your help we aim to minimize this risk while carrying out our important events and activities.
Please note that we will not be conducting any formal COVID tracking, tracing, or notifications during this conference, but we do ask for anyone who may test positive during or directly after the meeting to notify us, which we will keep strictly anonymous.
We will keep you all updated if any of the above guidelines should change. - A list of available testing sites in Anaheim can be found here.
